Own project, rebuilt on made-up data

Your prices against the competition, every morning.

I built a tool that collects the prices of competing listings on Amazon and eBay for each product in a catalogue, and shows where our price is too high, too low, or alone. The real one ran every day and fed a price list. This is the same report on an invented catalogue.

Products, sellers and prices are generated in your browser. The marketplaces are real, the listings are not.

Pricing rules

The recommendation follows these, not a feeling. Change them and the table recalculates.

Products

One row per product. "Position" is where our price sits among the live offers for the same item.

What the real version did.

The same table, refreshed every morning from the marketplaces, with the product matched by code rather than by name so a competitor's slightly different title did not break it. The recommended prices went into a sheet the person responsible approved with one click, and the approved ones were pushed to the listings. Rules first: the tool never changed a price on its own below cost.

If you sell on a marketplace and still check competitors by opening their listings, the first project is this monitor on your top 50 products, from €400. Send me a few product codes ›
